I have a question. When my Chief dies will there be another chief? Or is that just the end of the chief?

I miss the chief from VV3 That was fun putting all your villagers on the robe trying to find out which one fits. Everytime the retired chief gets elderly I grant him youth and then I put a number by his name letting me know how old he was when I granted him youth. I do that just so I can keep track of how many years he's lived lol. Its fun
