Going crazy trying to keep track of what every villager is working on? In VV4 I found it helpful to dress all of the villagers in a specific "uniform" that I chose, a different uniform for each trade. All male farmers wore 1 green outfit, all female farmers wore 1 green outfit, etc. The ones I chose are shown in the attached photo. From left to right is: Farmers, Builders, Researchers, Doctors, Parenting. Those who mastered all 5 skills got to wear any outfit they wanted other than those delegated to uniforms. I found it easier this way so that all I had to do was look at the outfit to know what the villager should be doing.

I also added their "trade" as their last name so "Tonga" became "Tonga Farmer" since she was leaning farming. When I clicked on her to show her skill level, if it showed "Master Farmer" then I had her change clothes and skill preference. When she went on to learn building her name became "Tonga Builder" and I changed her uniform to the one I had selected for builders. Made good use of all the tech points since I had nothing else to spend them on.

This can be done with the VV5 skills as well. smile

I have my villagers color coded by age. Women past birthing age wear one outfit. Kids wear one outfit, teens wear something different, adults change clothes at 18, and Elders got the best looking threads. Most of my games become genetic projects, so I also have different outfits for who is allowed to mate. If I get proficient enough at modding, I'll design specific outfits for each. If they look good enough, I'll share.

I usually add a letter after their names to denote what they are working on and then when they are masters I make it a capital letter and add the lower case letter for the next skill.
Once they only need parenting and devotion I change it so that there are only the letters pd after their name.
I find it easier that way - but I like your ideas of the clothing!!!
In some of my earlier VV games I used to change all my esteemed elders into white outfits!!!

Great idea! I usually put my doctors in white, but I'm going to put all my different workers in the same clothes from now on. This will be much easier to keep track of them.

I've always given my villagers 'uniforms' as well. For VV5, I always train children to "trainee" in the first 4 skills then dress them in green and have them all farm. When they've mastered farming, I dress them in blue and have them build, after mastering building they're put in red and dropped into the research lab. (I do this order because they get slower as they get older, so I want to get farming and building done while they're young.)

When they've mastered the sciences they become "Esteemed Elders" and get a greyish robe to study medicine in. If they master Medicine, they get another uniform to show that they've mastered 4 skills and then I set them to Devotion in hopes that they'll learn (most do not, but some will). If they master 5 skills then they get white robes and the few that master all 6 get yellow (the same colour I dress all the children in). This way, when they die, I know by what they're wearing how many skills they mastered.
