I don't know what the rules against double/triple posting are around here, but try not to double post guys.

I don't have any new events recently to add though.

As for the not liking work, I have a heathen who has that and she has a tendency to take alot of breaks. Easy enough to just send her back to work so it doesn't really affect things much.

I meant how tolerant you guys are about double/triple posting. I don't have a problem with it as long as it's not excessive.

I had read in the rules that after 6 hours you couldn't edit your posts, but I just tried with a post over 24 hours old and it did let me. If I had known I could, I would've edited instead of posting again.

The time limit is supposed to be 6 hours for all forums except the mods forums (where mod creators are allowed to edit their posts for a much longer period of time). If you were able to edit a post in any other forum, then it's a result of the forum crash over the weekend. As soon as I can find time, I will go in and check all of the settings. eek

Edit: I've moved this portion of the discussion out of the Island Events thread to keep things on track. smile

That is probably why you have people double posting/tripleposting. I don't see the purpose of that time limit, but hey it's your forums.

Also, no prob on splitting this into a separate topic.

The main reason why you can't edit a post after a certain period is to stop people altering a post after others have made replies referring to it. In some forums (not here) I've seen several posts that have been made almost meaningless because the original poster has returned, in some cases days later, and changed the post completely.

It makes sense to allow editing for a short period as it's very easy to miss typos and so on, even with the 'Preview Reply' button, until the post is actually made. In another forum (where I'm an Administrator) we only allow 10 minutes for editing.

It just depends on the community I guess. I'm not pushing to change the time limit or anything.
