Well, the kids won't stay in the nursery long enough to be taught.
They leave when teacher with the attention span of a gnat leaves.
But all of the nursing mothers hang out there to play.
Does that help the babies get devotion skill?
I didn't think so. smile

Over time, the kids will return to the nursery. When the game is off, particularly, they will gain the skills, provided that they are being taught by someone with a good mix of skills.

The converted heathen chief is ideal for that job.
My kids are leaving the nursery at 14 with adept-level skills in all the choices.

I use the converted chief to teach at the nursery. His likes are children. But he has no attention span. He keeps running all over the place. Too bad I can't set his preferences to teaching.
The nursing mommies stay in the nursery most of the time. Their status reads playing in the nursery.

I wish that would happen in my game. I have my chief teaching, but the kids are lucky to get maybe half-way to Trainee in one skill. They're still all lazying around the fire, not sure what to do, when they turn 14.

The kids in my game aren't getting adept level skills in all the choices either.

so far my tribe's kids have all been trainers at 14 and have been in need of "extra lessons"so they start working.

edit: what comes to devotion-skill, many my villagers have that skill around halfway to trainee (father/mother or both has/have been master devotee) but since no easy way to increase it they don't get it more.
