Overall I really like these VV games. However, I have one complaint which is consistent for all of them. I can never get all the collections. It really irks me that I can spending days and days looking and waiting and NEVER complete all of them. After a while I just give up. It leaves me with a disappointed feeling. I can't believe the game developers want me to feel disappointed at the end of every VV. They should develop some kind of process that allows me to find them all. Extra points or something to activate a crystal ball that shows them to me or something like that. I never feel like I've COMPLETED a game. I alays feel like I gave up. That's not good.

I agree. There has to be a way to find all of the collections, I am down to only having 3 left but have been unable to find them. I love VV games but will not buy another one that I am not going to be able to complete. The others you could walk away but in this version you can not even max out a hundred villagers unless you find all of the items.

I have to say that in VV5 it is a lot easier to find all the items. I, too, have multiple VV and VF games where I was unable to complete the collections and eventually gave up.

However, I already have one tribe with a complete collection, and this is even before completely "finishing" the game.

I really think that LDW may have made finding collectibles easier in this one, because, like you said, in this one you pretty much HAVE to complete the collections.

Hi Tuna - how are you finding these? I have NEVER completed a collectible collection in this game. Even after completing all puzzles and converting all heathens.

"Days and days" elizaew? laugh Aren't you hurrying through the game a little? I still run a game of Tree of Life, I started a month or so ago. I go in just to check on them now, get more kids, keep the stream clear and train Elders, etc. I like a game that I can play for a long time. I look forward to VV5 being like that. I love to watch them going about their business. I'll get all the collectables eventually, but I'm in no hurry. grin

I agree with you Whimsey - I like to just watch them going about their business and log into one or other of my 3 games to catch up with them and train them!!!
I also have a Tree of Life game I started last year that I still go into to check the stream and train!!!

I have 5 games going at the same time, so I don't have time to watch the screen endlessly. I completed my collections by using Earthquake all the time. When I set most of my villagers to Devotion, my powers recharge to full in 2-3 minutes.

I agree with elizaew. I am so tired of the collectibles. Who wants to spend endless hours scanning the screen looking for collectibles? Children like them, but I don't even bother collecting them anymore in Virtual Families. The rare ones should come up more often. Tuna Puzzler, does Earthquake cause collectibles to show up? I hate that I have to build up my tribe to max population to get the Earthquake. I don't like having a large tribe. VV5 is my least favorite of all the Last Day of Work games.

Click to reveal..
Yes, you get one unusual or rare collectible each time you use Earthquake, so you can get collectibles as often as Earthquake becomes available (every few minutes if you have a lot of Believers).

The only thing I don't like about this game is the same thing that I didn't like about vv3 and 4: Not enough events! lol

But that's probably just me. I love getting the events, so once a day just isn't enough. :P

Oh, and the collectibles are kind of tiny. I enjoy hunting them, but they're awfully small and sort of blend into the background, moreso than usual.

But hey, that's not really a huge deal.

That's what mods are for. The first thing I do when I install a new Virtual Villagers game is make the collectibles easier to see.

True, but I haven't found a mod yet that I like. But like I said, that's just me. ^_^

I just think VV needs to improve the speed. That game called my tribe is pretty fast, but it gets boring. There just have to be more things to do, instead of checking your tribe, then quiting for 5 hours, and repeating.

Actually, I think the walking speed is a bit faster in VV5 than VV4. Then again, the activity zones are pretty widely spaced in VV4 while they are closer in VV5.
