One of my families, over four working generations, has accrued quite the little fortune: over 180K. They don't have every upgrade, but they're close, and even if I wanted to buy them everything that's left, they'd still have plenty of money left over.

Do any of y'all plan to turn your wealthy heirs/heiresses into idle rich kids? Maybe we should petition LDW to create a designer line of clothes that cost a lot more, as well as some truly pricey decorator items for the house. Otherwise, what can you do with your $$$ once they've bought everything they can buy??? blush

I used Lewanda's mods to make me feel like I had given them extra upgrades when there were no more that I could actually give them. Luckily (or unluckily) one of my rich 5th gens had the earthquake event and got to do repair work on the floors, so that at least gave them something to work on. But yeah, there isn't really much to do with all that cash... maybe we can look forward to an "expansion pack?"

Wow that's strange. That's the first I've heard of that. Have you been able to afford any upgrades?

Ouch. That is really bad. Hopefully Barbara will see this thread and will reply with some suggestions as to what you should try to fix that. I've never heard of that happening to anyone before so I have no idea what to suggest for you. If not, you may want to create a thread yourself and see if any others have had the same problem.

Ive been able to afford all number 2 upgrades in one family, but thats because i didnt get them any of the luxury stuff, and they were workaholics. I finally got a kitchen and office upgrade for my second family, the kitchen one I got this morning. I was starting to wonder how people were able to get the 3rd upgrades since they are 15000, and my little familys would take forver to make that in one lifetime, if ever.

I already put that question to Arthur Sweetheart about additions you can buy with your money once your peeps are rich with nothing to spend it on, and he said it was a possibility. It would sure make the game more interesting once you get into the later gens

littlewindbird, your money is suppose to carry over Sweetheart. If your's isn't there's something wrong. I only wish I knew what to tell you to do about it, but this is the first instance I've heard of that happening. Do you have the latest update???

That *is* curious! How many generations do you have? At what point does the money "disappear?"

I think you should pursue this, because that sounds like a glitch in the game.

If I had a way to do it, I'd split my family's "inheritance" into equal shares between all the kids so that whatever child got the house would get only a *portion* of the previous generation's earnings and not ALL of it. Would make the game more interesting, IMO.
