It seems to me that I always hear a bell/chiming sound a little while before a collectable appears. (This also seems to be the case for all the VV games.) Am I correct about this? I can't quite figure out the timing of the sound, as in how long you hear the sound before the collectable appears. If it is NOT a collectable signal, what do the sounds mean?

I don't know. I've never heard the chiming sound, but I might be wrong.. I have heard it in the VV games though, and it seems to precede a collectable.

I've heard it and sometimes it brings collectables and shrooms but then sometimes not. I use as a warning that collectables are coming soon.

I use those sounds as a warning to look for collectables or mushrooms, too. But I don't always find something, so I wish I knew exactly what they mean!

yeah i seem to notice that too...if i hear the chimes and circle around twice..i usually find a collectable

Yes it is.But when it rings the mist comes too.So i think you shouldnt like,wait for the bell,just when you see the mist look for the collectibles and mushrooms.But the collectibles/'shrooms arent there only when the mist comes/bell rings(Wind flutes play) they are there very often,so you shall always look for collectibles.Hope i helped you.

I am also hearing the chimes sounds. Quite often. I thought at first it was the game maker's signal for something. But I don't always see something appear when I hear it, in fact, many times not. Now I am wondering if maybe the little villagers just have wind chimes hanging from the trees for their pleasure!
