I agree with virtuoso. Also, the kids are particularly useful to do a lot of the chores that might take a long while for the elderly to carry out like picking up trash, weeding, and so on. In addition, it's always fun to watch the kids in VF. When you just have a couple of elderly peeps doddering about the game is rather less interesting.
