Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I like the idea of picking a fish and exploring the breeding possibilities. Knowing that there are many ways to get each fish type is encouraging.

So selling off most of your 'founding' fish isn't a problem?
IOW, if you keep only the spotanus, explore the possibilites, then want to do the same with another fish, do you just buy more common eggs in hopes of getting some of your original species.

I think you can breed to get the common fish can't you?
