Today my first family member died, then another died a few hours later.

Right now there is a 10 year old alone in the house and 3 children in college

I want to raise her until she leaves for college then start a new generation, but if I do this, will the children in college be OLD? Or will they start at college-leaving age?

I have enough food and money to support that one child for a while.

It's up to you. If you have the money to buy food, she can sell the collectables to pay for the extras she may need. Or you can go to the next generation and select someone to inherit the house. This child will be there (older like the others)so you could choose her to come back..with a money-making career.

Your choice. Don't worry, the kids in college will all be in their mid twenties, no matter how long you wait.

Children in collage don't age. If they did, you'd have less options for the next heir.

That isn't exactly correct. Children go off to college just before they turn 19, and when they have the opportunity to inherit the house, they are usually in their 20s with an established career.

I meant if, say, this couple has a child at 20, and one at 40. The first child won't be 40 if you choose to wait util the second child goes to collage to pick the heir. If that did happen, you'd have a lesser chance to have 6 kids, because that person is 40, and by 50 it's harder to have children.
