I have like 14 totems and still I can't get the gong. I read that you should put a totem in the middle of the mosaic and the gong will be completed.

Well I tired each type of totem I have and still nothing has happened. Am I doing it right? This is the last puzzle I have.

Yes, all my puzzles are complete except for that last gong piece.

What should I do? I put it in the circle in the middle of the mosaic.... is there something extra I should have done?

There was a bug in early versions of the game downloaded from Reflexive before March 2007 where this puzzle didn't work. If you bought the game fairly recently that shouldn't affect you, though.

OK, so before I start playing VV3, does VV2 like VV1 have a special ending that leads over in to the next game?

No. Although there is an event that often comes up in VV2 which might lead in to VV3.

my esteem elder hit the gong today and it come up say "grant youth." i DIDN'T see anything DIFFER from the people. were some of the OLDER ones were to be changed to a younger age?
i ALSO had and island event " Honor the Dead". was there SUPPOSE to be ANYTHING differ than putting the flowers on the graves? i wrote ALL the island events down for villager 2, and this one WASN'T on it.

Sometimes I don't figure out who was granted youth (or other gift or taking from the gong), until much later if I have a large tribe. The "Honor the Dead" event only has everyone put flowers on the graves as far as I can tell.

As LadyCFII says in the first post of Island Events Lists for VV2, it isn't a comprehensive or complete list (there are more events in the game than are listed in this thread).

Is there any list of what happens when you bang on the gong? I just got "gives luck" but I can't see that anything happened.

I think if it "gives luck" it means that an event's about to happen. Other than that, nothing happens.

Something always happens when you ring the gong, though not everything is immediately noticeable. (For instance, perhaps an elderly villager becomes a child, but looks just like another child you already have, so he/she goes unnoticed at first glance.)
