I've lost so much money to the tax audit emails. I just lost 18,000 plus to one family and within minutes 31,300 to another. I don't think this is a cool feature to the game it just makes me not want to open anymore emails in the game. Does anyone else feel this is not fair after we pick up each coin and buy reduced groceries. I don't like this feature. Thoughts???

There's also the one where a refund is due, which balances out that particular event.

I've never gotten one single refund with four generations of five families. What are the odds? Oh well, easy come easy go.

I'm sick of email in real life, and I'm sick of email in the game. There are just too many of them !!

I ignore the emails.I dont open them.

But if you don't open them, that annoying email sign just keeps going in the right hand corner of the screen.

That is so true,zippe.I guess one should open them,when they have so much money,they need to get rid of some of it.

It was really easy for me to get rid of the big flashing email icon.

The file is saved in the games "Images" folder and is called email_big_anim.png. I just opened it in a program like GIMP, selected the image, deleted it and saved! Bingo! No more flashing email icon. I just wish I had thought to do that months ago.

Do you still get emails after you alter the program, or do you just eliminate the flashing icon?

Yeah, you're just changing a graphic. To not get any more emails would require a coding change which is certainly beyond my ability to do. The smaller icons right by the computers still flash, just not the big in your face icon in the upper right corner. By getting rid of the big one, it's so much easier to ignore the emails, but you can still see the smaller icons flash for when you want to check out a marriage proposal. Worked our rather nicely that way.

Unfortunately, there isn't a way to differentiate between the annoying emails and the marriage proposals, so you're still going to end up getting some of those, but once you get married, you won't have to deal with it at all unless you want to. After 20 generations for me the emails were just annoying and boring as I had gotten them all before.

There actually is a way to avoid paying the tax!

I already figured that out! Since I seldom get the tax credit(don't know why that one is so rare), I don't feel TOO bad.
