Hi guys. I've had a look through and can't find this posted anywhere else, hope you might be able to help.
My game runs as it should until somewhere in the middle of the second generation, then when I come to load it up it won't work. I get the loading screen, a brief glimpse of the house then just a black screen. This has happened twice now, I can't play the game and suspect my little people have died of starvation by now
I used the FAQ and technical support which helped to reset it the first time (along with uninstalling and reinstalling) but this time nothing seems to work.
Anyone got any ideas?

A black screen on loading, assuming that you're playing the Windows (rather than Mac) version, is usually caused by what's described in this answer in our Support FAQ.

As I said, I have already gone through all that, and any idea's why it would start happening out of the blue?
I'll have another look and see if I can get it running, I'm missing my little family lol!

If you had some sort of crash on your computer (or a power failure) while the game was running, one of the savegame files could have become corrupted. If that's the cause of the problem, these procedures will help you determine which file is causing the game not to load.

Tried the procedure you sent, that didn't work but I have now managed to run a compatability wizard and after much trial and error (fingers crossed) I think we're up and running again. Thanks for your help and suggestions
