I've been wondering about the star on the northern pier. It's there from the beginning of the game. Has anyone figured out why it's there? Maybe just to get us to wonder about it? I thought it might be related to the level of the tide or something to do with the puzzle but I really can't find a correlation. Any ideas?

I think it's a starfish.

I believe Ke is correct - it's just a starfist attached to the pillar of the pier.
