Do you name all you kids by the same letter of from the same culture.
I named kids by the letter E. The kid names are Elijah, Eliana (A.KA Ellie) Elisha, Eliava, Ereila and Ezekiel

I used to change the name to a more common name similar to the computer-given name, i.e. Katalia would be changed to Katie or Kathy. I don't change them anymore, I just leave them as the computer names them.

I only change them if I get an inspiration or if the name is really off-the-wall. For instance, today I got a Spot. That just makes me think of a dog, so I had to change it! His name is now Simon. A little boring, but better than Spot!

I'm doing an alphabet theme for my names, but because I want *everyone* to have the same letter, I have to alternate. Odd numbered generations all share the same letter, and even numbered generations serve to transition from one letter to another and have only one child named in the new letter, and there's a different theme connecting the names. I also roll a die randomly to decide which of the 6 children inherit because that keeps things interesting for me.

Right now I have:

1. Annabel & Arthur: Alice, Alexander, Adrian (adopted), Asher, Athena, and Amadeus
2. Athena & Bacchus: Bellona (All 3 names belong to ancient deities)
3. Bellona & Bran: Beatrix, my first twins, Bethany, Bridget, then Benjamin, Belinda, and Basil
4. Basil & Camellia: Cerise (Plant based names. Camellia is a type flower, Basil a herb, and Cerise means "Cherry" in French).
5. Cerise & Calvin: Catriona (adopted), Charles, Conor, Caleb, Celeste, and Coralie
6. Conor & Deirdre: Darina (These are all Irish names)
7. Darina & David: Dmitri, twins Diane and Deborah, Daphne, Dennis, Damien
8. Dennis & Evonne: Erinna (each name has 6 letters and two double nn's. I also liked that Erinna was the name of an ancient poetess that lived in Greek and that Evonne was the name of a poor aboriginal girl who became a tennis star).
9. Erinna & Ethan: Edric, Eleanor (adopted), twins Eugene & Ezra, Eamon, and Emily.
10. Emily & Farley: Felicity (English names that end in -y)
11. Felicity & Francis: Finn, Felix, Fiona, Freya, Frederick, and Florence
12. Freya & Gunnar: Gersemi (Names from Norse mythology).
13. Gersemi & Gavin: Georgia, Gwendolen, Gregory, Gabrielle, Giles, (adopted) Gemma
14. Gregory & Hildegard: Helena (names of old Christian saints)
15. Helena & Henry: Hugh, and then my FIRST set of triplets!! Harold, Hamish, and Horatio. Then adopted brother Hakim, and then they finally had a girl named Hope. I also got my perfect match trophy with this generation and completed all 100 trophies. smile
16. Hugh & Ingrid: Ida (Names of famous actors, Hugh Grant, Ingrid Bergman, Ida Lupino.) I hadn't heard of Ida Lupino before, but she starred in a lot of movies in the 1930s and then later became one of the first and only women movie directors during the 1940s.)

One thing that I'm really enjoying about this game is that I'm learning some things I never knew before when I'm looking up ways to connect the names in the even numbered generations.

I named a boy Hootie because he sits and spins his head like an owl, and when I pick him up he says "whoooo?"
