After a fairly cursed first attempt: I had 5 initial members, and decided it would be a good idea to spread out my efforts. (I see now that was a mistake.) My enterprise was doomed from the start, and at a crucial moment my lead medic/gatherer/farmer girl drinks a vial and turns into a 2 year old! Now I have to build the farm as fast as I can with 4 people, and they died, of course.

Round two has begun well. Six members this time, and Most of my efforts are being used to boost the Gathering skill to level two and get the farm finished. Everyone is doing research, which I think is the best idea after gathering 500+ berries. If you were stranded on an island with no way off, the best idea would probobly be future planning and establishing food and bare essentials and making a nice place for the next generation to grow. That works in theory. This time my medic was established after another potion gave everyone ELSE the plague, and the girl could walk around healing, for an instant Adept.

I love this game and it's doing an excellent job distracting me from things I really should be doing. Question: if I wanted to do a little web-comic about these fugitives, is that encouraged or no?

My Research and Development departments have merged. LOL. Mystery baby was born a little while ago to Ciuk, the construction guy, and Chapa, the research girl whose blue dress bothers me on levels I'm not comfortable with. Finished the farm before the berry tree ran out.

No one else seems to care to learn construction though. Perhaps the offspring will be more hands-on. Speaking of hands-on, it took forever to get the duo to mate.

Alright, now all the couples are preggers. Mina, the original daughter will soon be an older sister, and we'll see what the new trio are like. I tried to spawn them to make the whole unit available for work tomorrow. The coupling came out rather funny. My pair names went like this:
Ciuk and Chapa
Kupe and Kieki
so the two K's and two C's together leaving...
Sogan and Mika... that's right, S&M...

Talk about racy, not to mention what I assume are tattoos on the male could also look like some weird harness. -cough- I have a feeling he's going for an Oscar WIlde type marraige though. Pairing them was hard enough without realizing what I'd done.

I'm enjoying your saga! It's amazing how these little arrangements of pixels can spawn such fascinating discussions, and for such a long time. You might enjoy some of the funny stories that were posted after Village Sim was originally released. If you search for posts by Tibby, you'll be in the right vicinity - she's one of many who wrote some funny stuff.

Once Virtual Villagers for Windows and Mac comes out, there will be a whole new flood of fun stories to enjoy!

I'll keep it going then! (Just FYI, having some crashing problems on the T/X.)

So, overnight the first half of the second generation grew up, and now waiting for the younger siblings to become productive. Overnight I had a bounty of trade points spring up, having pre-set some of their behaviors ahead of time, and a good deal of the kids are really into Research. Unfortunately this was just in time to make the graveyard for our first mortality, one of the kids had died overnight of some disease. Luckily, it was one of the duplicate named kids, and the spawn of a bad pairing.

Thanks to a bad drag, now my tomboy farmer matron has paired with a different mate. It was the original pairing that produced the death, sadly.

Only one of the new breed concerns me. He looks like Charles Manson. I can't complain because he adapted to Construction like a fish to water, and is mostly responsible for the lagoon almost being finished. Something about his wide eyes, makes me concerned about the quiet one. Not nearly as disturbing as one of my elder farmers who looks eerily like Mr. T.

Oh, update! The new breed has come! Hoani, the younger brother of the Manson-type mentioned above is now working with his older brother. Unlike one of the elders, he actually looks like he has tattoos. Meanwhile the younger girl named Meka now looks like Wonder Woman. A very 80s fantasy headband, if I do say so myself.

I'll be eager to see how the Mac version turns out, but I might want to accomlish something soon instead of staring at this little screen. Curse this drama!
