I was looking at the PDF file that gives hint and tricks to playing the game. One of the things mentioned in the file was that you can train a healer without healing someone. I have searched and searched and cannot find a way to do this. So far, no one has gotten sick in my game yet so I don't have anyone that has any healing skills.

Once you've researched Level 2 of Medicine technology, your villagers will be able to study medicine (click on the "?" next to "Buy" button for Medicine Tech for more information about that tech). Before you get to that level, healing sick villagers is the only way to train healers.

Wow - you are lucky I had sick villagers from the first few hours on my iPhone on- more than any other time I have played- I really had to keep on top of it- even a nursing mom got sick, making me wonderif both she and baby would die if she did.

Another way of healing is that your chief can heal others without training. Just put the chief on the sick villager until it works.

Do they study the medicine at the research table? My chief keeps wanting to build even though I them set to healer.

Villagers who work at the research table will produce tech points. There is a different way for villagers to study medicine.

Villagers typically need to be at least Trainee level before they will perform work (farming, building, researching, etc.) on their own.

Until you have purchased Level 2 of Medicine Technology, villagers can only gain healing skill by healing a sick villager. You can click on the "?" next to "Buy" button for any tech to see information about what that tech does for your village.

If there are no sick villagers and you want to train a healer, you should work toward getting Level 2 of Medicine Technology, which will give the villagers a place to study medicine and increase their healing skill.
