Hello,
I am new to this game thanks to my buddy and her daughter lol. But when I got the game my power supply on my computer went out so the computer is being repaired darn it all anyways. I bet my fish have died. Anyways... Since I cant play this game on this laptop that is so ancient it isnt funny I have been going through withdrawals, and then discovered you all. Now I have been reading the forum but I am so darn confused on Fins and bodies. Is there a place I can see pictures of Fins and Bodies seperatly? Just so I can get my bearings so to speak?

Thanks Bunchs,
Bec

I don't know of a place where you can see fish bodies and fins separately for the Windows version of Fish Tycoon. Since most people use screenshots to create their sites and tools (and the fins are attached to the fishies when they're swimming around posing for screenshots), it would take a lot of work to separate them.

There is a MobileDB database that was created by Archmage for the Palm version of the game, but it must be run on a Palm and the graphics don't match the Windows version.

Probably the best alternative is to visit one or more of the fan sites (there are several that have been created by forum members) and take a look at the screenshots of the fishies that have been posted. Some sites do have a lot of spoilers, though, so be careful if you want to avoid such things.

yeah I was worried about the spoilers but by the time I get my computer back I will probably forget them.

And anyone that is reading I dont ask for cheats or spoilers ok? Just get confused on reading sure would help if I had the game up and running lol.

Hugs to all,
Bec

Good luck! There are lots of helpful people here, so you'll have folks to talk to about Fish Tycoon when you get your computer back!

Here's a hint. Every fish has 2 names. The first name is the fin type. The second name is the body type.

For instance (this is not a real fish in Fish Tycoon, I just made this fish up to show you without spoiling you)... Threadfin Rainbowfish. Threadfin is the fin type... it's the kind of fins that you see on the fish. Rainbowfish is the body type. It's the kind of fish.

Let's see, if you played the game for a bit before you needed to have your computer fixed, you should have run across the fruitfish and the spotanus by now. they look pretty different, right? The fruitfish is a orange fish with black stripes. The spotanus is a white fish with spots and a stripe across its eye. Fruitfish and spotanus are body types.

Did that make sense?

And if anyone is curious, yes, Threadfin Rainbowfish is a real fish. It's from Irian Jaya, south of Papua New Guinea.

Hello,
It sort of does. This is what I had written down
Pnk Betta
Silky Fatfish
Twin Fin Fruitfish
Green Fin Fruitfish
Green Fin Shark
Green Fin Spotnus
Green Fin Beta
So this means I had 4 fins and 2 regular? Do you think I would be arrested if I camped out on teh doorstep of the repair place? hehehe

Hugs,
Bec

Now thats dedication.

Yes you had 4 different fin types and 5 fish types. There are i believe 21 fin types and 21 fish types so 441 different species total.

If you had the greenfin spotanous you had the first magic fish as well, and the best in my opinion at least when breeding it is.

I guess it would depend on whether or not you brought a tent and started a campfire to pass the time while you waited!

Think of the bodies as "breeds" of fish, sort of like Labrador Retriever, Poodle, Mutt, etc, and the fins as different "fur" that the breed can have. For example, you could have a Chocolate Lab or a Black Lab - the bodies are both Labrador Retriever, but their fur is different.

What your list shows me is that 4 of your fish have the Greenfin fins on them, but each of those 4 fish has different bodies - Fruitfish, Shark, Spotanus, and Beta. You also have 3 other fish on your list which have different fins from the Greenfin fishies, but two of them have the same body as two of the Greenfins on your list (Beta and Fruitfish). If you look at the screenshot attached to this post, you'll see 2 fish: The Greenfin Spotanus and the Silky Spotanus. They both have the same body type, but they have different fins - sort of like the Black Lab and the Chocolate Lab!

I hope that helps make things clearer!
