Hi guys, I just got this game, I find it very enjoyable. I have a couple questions however.

When I "switch the game off" (ie, hit the home button the T650) should I go back to the menu screen to pause it? Or do I just keep it running and doing stuff? Or am I supposed to keep it running when I'm not interacting.

All of LDW's realtime games are designed to keep going, even when you're not actively playing the game. Some people do pause the game so that they don't "miss anything" while they're away, although progress in the game will be slower that way.

Depending on how long you plan to be away from the game, you might want to adjust the game speed so that your village doesn't suffer from neglect. You don't have to return to the game menu after exiting to do that, though. You can set the game speed while you're still in the game and then exit. The speed setting takes effect as soon as you click OK on the preferences screen.

Okay, well the berry bush is out and 2 guys are trying to push a rock, one is fixing a hut, one is researching and one is trying to forge the near-empty bush.

What do I do now?

If you haven't researched the second level of Harvesting yet, your village could be in trouble. They are soon going to run out of food.

This post has some good tips for getting started, without including spoilers.

There arent many ways you can start this game and succeed. Id say your pretty much doomed where your at now. The first thing you should do is put 4 guys on research, and 2 on foraging. Once you have enough for 2nd level food research buy that immediately. Keep foraging and researching. When your first crop come up, harvest it out then go back to foraging. Keep your main people on research, dont worry about increasing population but by maybe one or two for now. It might take awhile but you need 50,000 more tech to get to level 3 food. Once you get level 3 you may have to find out how they can use it, its not really hard. But after that you can pretty much do as you want. The best thing though i think is get level 2 immediately then cycle between the bush and the crops till get you level 3. Something at least i've noticed is my bush has never run out, it gets down to 1 berry then just stays there. He he.

Yeah, what nonsense. Just checked on back and it looks like they cleared the beach and built a hut on their own. Of course the last tooltip noted how they had all died. I hope they are in hell.
