Nice thoughts slh! I was curious about the "mushroom things", however I figured that they were foot prints from Himene - the girl in the yellow skirt - created when she crossed the moat thing.
Also, I can definitely imagine the water being diverted down the slope and into the moat, being diverted around the rocks making it look more appealing.
I think this water input may help the diseased root/branch as the end of it is kinda lying in the moat - however this seems like doing one thing to solve 2 things which seems far to simple....
And, like all of us, I AM DYING FOR THIS GAME. Even checking this forum and the progress bar at least once an hour... My sister makes fun of me - but I'm far to excited to take any notice. hehe

I think the hole in the tree trunk is how they get to the new location, see how they have there backs to it like they just came out? Maybe there's an under ground tunnel that they go thru... We'll know when it comes out

has anyone noticed there's a waterfall in every game.
In vv1 it led to the lagoon.
In vv2 it led to the pond.
In vv3 its where they drank from.
And in vv4 it's in the screen shot.

Makes sense. You wouldn't want to make a home where there was no fresh water. I like that the water falls are getting better and better looking.

I guess it would be hard to live without water...

You may be right about the footprints. Zoomed in, it looks more like footprints than mushrooms or lichens.

I see a very distinct line at the end of that diseased branch, especially if you enlarge the picture. It looks like branch doesn't fit properly onto the tree, so I'm thinking cutting it off is exactly what we'll have to do. Also, zoomed in, I don't think the end of it is in the moat, but above it.

Looking forward to figuring these out. I wonder how many puzzles I'll be able to manage before I cave and come to the forum for tips
