I don't know what I am doing wrong. I used the combination database http://www.cleverarts.com/fishtycoon/default.asp and found that to breed an orange snooper by using a golden snooper and a canary fire-arrow.

The first time I thought I might have accidently used an orange fire-arrow or an oriental snooper So I emptied my sale tank except for the golden snooper and canary fire arrow and then bred them. Nope.

I had a wasp grouper in another tank and just in case that was the problem, I sold him before trying a 3rd time.

What am I doing wrong? Is the database wrong? Or is there something else than can cause mutations? (I've not used any unknown chemical in this game.)

I'd say that you've found an error in the Clever Arts database. Are you, perhaps, getting an Orange Goldshark from those two parents? You might want to try a different combination from their list.

That's not surprising. I've noticed that there are quite a few combinations that are not contained in the Clever Arts database.

I don't see any problems though...
