It might be nice to be able to maybe have the villagers find a way to get to the other side of the island, and maybe build huts there, because their village is getting too many people. Maybe some of the kids break off from the village and find a way thru to the other side of the island, where they can start a tribe of their own. Having two tribes at once would be really challenging.
I agree - this type of thing would be nice!
It'd be good to be able to select your starting villagers from the tribe of a previous VV game (or start with all new villagers if you don't have the previous games of course). Of course this may be easier said than done ... compatibility issues between different versions may present a problem.
It seems to me the engine relies on a 2d painting for the backdrop, and of course making this larger would consume more memory ... I'm not sure what the limits are in this regard, but it'd be great to be able to discover a new section of the island after you've completed a certain number of the puzzles in the first section. Imagine at a later stage of the game your villagers cutting away at some heavy brambles to discover a pathway that leads to a whole new section of island. If memory issues are a problem here, perhaps the villager/s could be seen to go down the path and then the game is saved while the new island section loads. You can go back and forth between the sections as you wish. Perhaps there would be things you'd have to do in this new section of island in order to solve puzzles in the previous section. And perhaps another couple of collections to be found in the new area to add to it all.
Perhaps they may discover the poor Golden Child, wandering all on his own, and he could pop into the game for a bit to help with something or other, and then disappear to go back to his own tribe (I think the Golden Child in the first game had a little too much power and it was kind of like game over when he showed up, so I wouldn't want him to hang around permanently

)
Who's to say they may not discover the section of island from VV3, all in it's finished state, but for some reason empty ... the puzzles may involve determining what became of the ones who had built it up and then left ...
I guess game longetivity is another thing that'd be a great enhancement ... once all the puzzles are solved and all techs researched, you end up with little to do, after all, there's 1 million food plus and you'll never spend all those surplus tech points on changing clothes ... perhaps there could be surprises when you reach say 10 mill tech points, such as all of a sudden being able to build some new building ... or be able to discover a spell enabling you to resurrect a valued dead villager? Or a boat that could take you to ... who knows

Perhaps such surprises could be randomised so that no one can post a spoiler letting you know just what to expect.
I know there are limits of course

And all I'm doing is throwing about a lot of "perhaps" etc lol ... LDW would of course know what's feasible or not.
I can't help but think back to 2002 and a game called Black and White. Many of the game mechanics were similar, but the game lacked the personalization that the VV series has and had a combat element to it that would turn many fans of the VV series off. But I often wonder at how VV could be if it used a similar game engine ... however that's unfair of me to say this as it would require a completely new code written from the ground up and I know I certainly don't want to be waiting years for the next VV!

Nope ... if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Yep, the current model works quite nicely ... but I personally would love to see some of those "perhaps" I mentioned brought into a future VV if it's possible. Perhaps (don't ya hate that word by now?

) I'm being unreasonable ... what do others think?
