The current version is 1.00.05. If you have this version, then you will not need to upgrade your game. To check your version number, open the game, go to the main menu, and look in the lower left hand corner. It should say something similar to this: 1.00.05 RA. If it is lower than that, since you purchased from Real Arcade, you will need to contact them in order to upgrade your game.

On the topic of no marriage proposals, LadyCFII has some good responses here, and here, she gives a link on how to backup and save your families so your game can be saved. That link might be very useful in order to save your families.

We are currently looking into the issue of children appearing on the detail screen of single parents who have none. Any information you can provide would be helpful, such as current version number, if you updated your game at all since purchase, etc.

Family members will often 'reserve' one person areas before they actually get there, so when another family member attempts to use that area, they say that someone is already there, when they aren't, yet. This is normal. Several people have lost their remotes, and found them again later. You can see a rather large discussion about that here.
