Ya know, I have VF and VV 1 & 2 on my iPhone - and I'm just itching to see VV 3 show up at the App Store for my iPhone!!! Is it worth it to have these games on both systems? Like, are they actually different in that the iPhone app is simpler? If so, it will help me decide to buy the PC version of VV 3 and not feel buyer's remorse if it comes out for the iPhone. Cheers!

I don't have an iPhone/iPod, but have VF and the VV series on my PC. I think the main differences are that the computer versions can have more people than the iPhone/iPod versions because of the more memory available. I think the maximum in VV2 iPhone/iPod is 40, whereas in the Windows/Mac PC versions it's 90, with the possibility of more in some cases. In VF iPhone/iPod I think the maximum number of kids in a family is four whereas the maximum is six in Windows/Mac.

The version of VV1 for iPhone/iPod wasn't developed by LDW, and the graphics in particular look completely different. I can't speak about the gameplay. VV1 Mac/Windows graphics look much more like those in VV2.

LDW haven't announced if or when they'll be porting VV3 to the iPhone/iPod platform, so you'll have to wait several months at least. I'd definitely recommend getting all the LDW games on PCs if you can!

I have VF for Mac, PC, and my iPhone. About the only real differences I've found on the iPhone/iPod version are: You are only able to have one family, can't change peep names, and everything looks very, very, very TINY mad . The size can become a major drawback if you have severe far-sightedness, or like me, major Astigmatisms. Other than that, it all seems the same, including having six children, which I finally accomplished two generations ago. cool

It is nice to have it on my iPhone for the times I'm away from home, or in bed at night when I can't sleep, and really bored because my hubby has to have the TV/computer turned off to sleep. LOL! However, I still definitely prefer the computer versions overall.

Hello,

I'm just starting out on this forum. Got VV the lost children for the iPod and then VF for it as well. It is tiny, but very well done. I stopped playing LC because they kept dying off and that was depressing.

The VF couples are cute and the house is funny. what in the heck is the strange plastic bag between the house wall and the garden hose in the back yard? I've tried several starts and stops, getting used to the types of characters and how to work the game. From this forum, I've decided to ignore the items appearing in the yard and keep them working! LOL But t heir income is slow to build. And they are arguing about having a kid.

Some questions:

What is the workroom for? And why would upgrading it speed career progression when a "career" and a "hobby" are not the same thing? I know one can lead to the other, but still?

Very tired of having only one waste basket/garbage can, to put each wrapper they pick up, one at a time. Why can't they pick up more than one item?

I would love to see options to add a libarary. Some career paths need books! smile

I love how they like their new suits. One of my people would constantly go to the bedroom mirror to admire himself. Cracked me up!

How do you return something to the store? Because once it's used, it disappears from the game! For example, the floor fixer should have fixed more than one damaged spot, but it only worked onced and vanished. Have to complain to the manufacturer! After all, one of my "adoptees" is a lawyer smile

It's amazing how so many of you are working on several generations...

Here are a few answers for you:

The workroom is a career room as well as a place to work on a hobby.
Click to reveal..
Some careers use the workroom exclusively (i.e. Dress Maker, Denture Maker, Watch Fixer, etc) Any career that doesn't 'fit' for the kitchen or the office uses the workroom.

Picking up one item: That's the way the game was designed.

Certain items can be returned to the store prior to use. To do so, click and drag (or tap then 'drag') the item from the tool tray back to the store. Almost all items are one-use only (praising/scolding hands do not apply here).
Click to reveal..
The floor repair kit only fixes 1 hole. In order to fix the other holes, you must purchase more floor repair kits.

Hope this information helps.

Yes, it does! Thanks so much. Expensive items, aren't they? LOL My first couple is reaching senior years, and they haven't even passed the $5000 income mark yet! Rather depressing.
