Can you get the fish that are on the "know your fish" poster in the shop? I was just wondering because I've seen customers thinking about some of those fish and I wanted to know if I could get them.

yes, there are several fish on the chart that you can breed...these are the ones frequently seen in their thought bubbles...
pink fruitfish

orange pigmy

razorback carp (at least it looks like it to me)

you can breed other fish on the chart as well..of course you dont only have to breed these 3 above to keep customers happy...i think these fish in the thought bubbles are to let us know they like a variety in the tank.

i thought it was a goldbulb too, then i noticed the tailfin...too much of a 'v' shape to be a goldbulb, imo.

Unless, of course, it was a goldbulb from the PDA versions of Fish Tycoon!

The graphics have been redesigned for the Windows version, and there are many new features, too. But the "genetics" are the same in all versions. The Palm version has one interesting feature that is not found in any other version of Fish Tycoon - you can beam fishies to another person who is also playing the Palm version of the game.

I think that most people here are playing the full (purchased) version of the game. Whether or not you spend the extra money for the CD is a personal choice. I normally download software and then burn it to a CD myself, because it's usually a lot cheaper than paying for the CD option.

I'm not aware of any stores that currently carry Fish Tycoon.
