The only way I've seen this happen is when there's an... earthquake I think. It's an event, at any rate, and it damages the house a little. Is it possible you got that event and passed through it without reading it carefully?

I've had a few earthquakes. Some do damage like that and some don't. I always look around after an earthquake since I realized they did damage.

Sometimes the earthquake event doesn't do anything.. I only had it do damage to my house once and before that I did a huge scope of the entire house to see if anything happened grin

Is there any other damage that an earthquake can cause other than the floor damage? If so, I have not seen any.

I guess the point of the earthquake is to revert some of our work renovating the house.. unless an earthquake can get that mess on the workshop wall to come back & the hose or fountain to break it should just be the floor.

I find it kind of cute, an earthquake comes along and we get cracks in our lovely floors. It's a nice random mini challenge thrown into the game.

I seem to have lots of earthquakes.....but of course, I do live
in California smile
Only damage ever had are the floors and lots of socks & wrappers
scattered around....guess one would call that 'collateral' damage.
