Marital Discord?

My current generation (the 11th) is Penni and Coop. I thought they would be a good match (closest I could get to the elusive "Perfect Match"--she's a screenwriter and he's a nonfiction writer) but I guess not. They seem to be having marital problems. Coop loves to work and it's not because I have trained him to do so; that's just the way he is. Penni spends little time working and seems a bit of a free spirit.
I was really hoping for the rare triplets this time, but they seem to have stopped after three girls and it was like pulling teeth to get those. They argue every time I put them together and it takes multiple tries to get one baby. I've tried all the tricks I have found in this forum to help things along, but they just argue.
Also, this couple seems to have an aversion to taking care of their kids, which is funny because their profiles both indicated they wanted children. Neither of them want to fix a meal, even though I have rewarded them for doing so. I check the food storage and it never seems like theirs goes down. I've never had these issues with their "ancestors".
Has anyone else had couples that seem to have marital discord? Just wondering. I mean, Penni came from a good home with good parents and lots of fun siblings. Where did I go wrong????????

Moonstar, do you have photos of this couple so I never choose them? LOL.
There are some on this forum who say that each peep acts differently even if they look alike, I'm not one of them. I have been through six or seven generations with pretty much the same three women and men, only these three, and they always hold true to form, acting very similar from generation to generation. The one time I deviated and took an unknown husband he turned out to be a bum. He wouldn't work, always yelling NO like your Penni, and letting everyone and anyone else do the household chores. I would have divorced him and tossed him out if that was a real world option.
And like your couple, they fought every time when going to make a baby. I learned to back up my family save file and keep forcing them until they produced! I just overwrote my family save file again and again until they finally had a baby. The baby boost did nothing for this couple, only repeatedly trying to have a baby they would finally succeed, but if I had waited for the normal time to pass for them to try again, they would have gotten old and childless.
I suppose it is possible he would have acted differently with a different wife next to his own head type, but since I pretty much pick the same two or three wives each generation, I will never choose that guy again for them. My beautiful ladies need gentlemen who will take care of them and their family, and I have found the best husbands for them are next to their own heads in the bigheads00.png file.

As far as I've noticed from the programming, they do have different personalities like a random generation or something that depends on a bunch of factors. Even the clothing could have something to do with it as opposed to the heads, the only way we'd know is if a staff member told us the facts I have had some rather persistently argumentative couples but they always give in in the end and have some lovely children. Unfortunately, these couples make it a challenge to reach more than 3 or 4 children but I'm glad to get what I can from them. Best of luck with your families!

Just keep trying DrDan. I have had my share of couples where it was like pulling teeth to get them to have a baby. Do you use the baby boost shot? I always give it to both the guy and the gal at the start of a new generation. I did have one couple where they finally had a baby when the woman was 49 years old! So don't give up until the woman is 50 years old.

I found Penni actually working at her job today. She still hasn't made much progress. Now she is actually cooking without me having to drag her to the kitchen. Maybe her daughters finally put her to shame. They have been doing all the work without prompting. Just Briana at home now, but she's been really busy. will have to keep her in mind for the next generation, though I think Starr will probably inherit the house. Depends on what shows up in their profiles.
Penni has the head with the dark pageboy haircut and the glasses. That head has popped up several times in this family. I thought because she and Coop were both writers they would be a good match. I should have known better. I am a professional writer and I wouldn't marry another writer. Too much drama. LOL!
