Ok, I don't think I've ever seen this subject and would like to know if anyone else has had this happen. I'd also like to know if it's a glitch that the admin would know how to fix.

PROBLEM:
This isn't a first generation, so I do know how to make babies. What is going on is my couple won't do anything but embrace when put together. They do it over and over again, and it's not that I'm not putting them close enough. They're starting to age, so if anyone knows if this is something that can be fixed please please let me know. Ok, I want to add that it's not that they're refusing to make a baby. They're just not recognizing that I want them too. I have peeps in the 16th generation, so it's not that I don't know how to do it. Please help!!!

Do they go on the bed and embrace or stay where ever you put them together and embrace? A couple in my last generation just wouldn't get pregnant after their 4th child but they did try and played kissy-face when I put them together.

I think what she's talking about is the action that normally happens when you try to get them to make a baby but you don't drop them close enough. They both stand there and their action reads as "Embracing".
But as she said, she's putting them close enough and this shouldn't be happening. Quite strange. I'm sorry I'm of no more help.

Yes Krystal, that's exactly what I'm saying. All they do is embrace. It's as though they don't realize what I'm trying to get them to do. It's the same thing over and over. I do hope someone knows what can be done for this problem.

Have you tried closing and reopening the game? Sometimes little errors happen and can be resolved with a simple restart of the game.

Other than that, I'm not sure if it's exclusive in version .04 as a little error that happens now and then or if it'll happen to everyone that is updated as well.

Yeah I've tried that too. I can't see that it would be the version when I have a game in the 16th generation and have had four to six kids in all of it's gens. I'm wondering if it's something that maybe a reinstall might fix?

You'll notice that some issues will not appear all the time, it may require a certain circumstance or error.. this could be seen only in version .04 or it could be in version .05

I suppose it's worth trying a reinstall, I just wish you could know if it's an error in versions prior to .05 >_<

I don't recall ever seeing this one before. Though the only difference I've seen thus far in .05 and this one is the announcments being wrong. I've been playing it for a long time now and really love this version..I really hate the thought of going back to .05.

Don't worry, if you try to reinstall (with your save files backed up) and reinstall version .04 this could help learn a bit more.

If your couple is able to try for a baby after the reinstall with the same version, this could just mean one of the game files was acting up. If it doesn't work, this could either be a version-specific issue or something located in the savegame files which I really hope it isn't.

Best of luck! Best case would be the working reinstall of .04

It would help to know exactly what you have tried, Lewanda, so that we can determine what the issue could be.

How many times have you tried putting them together in order to notice a trend? (5, 10, 50, etc?)

Have you tried a baby boost or doctor's consult?

Miss Kathy, it does sound somewhat like your description of your 11th generation, though they never try to make one but always just embrace.

Xay, it's been too many times to count. I don't think baby boost would help this though, as it isn't that they try to make one and can't.

When I get time I'm going to reinstall to see if that will fix the problem. Hopefully it will. I'd hat to start over. Thanks to all for your suggestions. Be hoping with me that it fixes the problem.

It is possible that a baby boost could help. You might try that before installing, but ultimately, it is your choice.

I always give baby boost when starting a family, so they've both had it. As it is they're not even trying to make a baby. That's the problem.

I've had the opposite happen, I was playing with 5 families at once and when I returned to my first family the screen had a bith announcement on it, I hadn't even tried to have them start a family as they had only just got married!! Has this happened to anyone else? I thought the player had to "help" them try for a baby?!!

I've never heard of that happening in the Families game dansmot. Though it does in the villager games.

Same thing with me. What happened was I was moving a peep from one place to the other and accidentally one feel over the other and them Bam - baby.

Is there anything in their dislikes that needs to be cleared with the desensitization kit? Don't know what it might be, but just a thought.

Some of them are just bothering (if the peeps like trash, for example); others are kinda crucial for the game, for example

I believe Jenny23 was referring to the problem that Lewanda was having I think she was suggesting that there might be something in their dislikes that could be interfering with the baby making ability

Hey guys! I'm sorry I didn't tell you, but it seems the keyboard on my older computer was going out. It went completely today. I think maybe that was the problem. I think the command signal wasn't going through to the game as it should.

I don't understand why the keyboard would interfere from the trying for a baby action.. as long as you have your mouse it should be fine shouldn't it?

Glad to hear that your problem is fixed Lewanda! How do you use keyboard commands to play the game though? I have used the number pad on the right side of my keyboard to cruise the grounds for collectibles (but it doesn't work on the Windows side of my computer).

I don't know but it works now that the keyboard is fixed. I still have my game on my good computer, so all is fine.
