Introduction
Welcome to my rather tiring groceries experiment topic grin I worked really hard on this experiment but I still feel as though it would have to be repeated to validate my findings. You can use this information any way you'd like!

I did my best to remove any result-interfering factors that can occur with experiments like these. For example, I only performed this experiment on one freshly adopted person and I did not provide her any health-enhancing products.. it was just the necessities to survive! I made a backup of her save file after I adopted her before she did anything, and used this after I finished one half of the experiment to start over with the other groceries.

Meet our brave star of this experiment, Vanilla!

As a personal cook, she felt it was her duty to help with this experiment. grin

The Data
I am going to hide the detailed data in a spoiler tag because there is a LOT of it and I don't want to make this topic appear any longer than it already is once you open it. grin

The Results
I will try my best to summarize my findings with this experiment. Keep in mind that the experiment may have to be repeated to validate some pieces of information.
  • Organics will satisfy their hunger more than regular groceries when they sit down for a meal in front of you.
  • Once their hunger has reached the middle in the bar, this will not go too much higher or lower.
  • Both Organics and Regular groceries will reach that middle point of hunger around the same time.
  • Food is consumed from the fridge every 1 year in the game, 3 hours and 30 minutes in our time.
  • The amount of food consumed every year is random, although the organics appears to have been consumed more.
  • On a daily basis, around 200 units of food will be consumed, this can be more or less.
  • Organics will not help to prevent illness.
  • Organics will increase a person's lifespan, it was increased by 7 years in this experiment.

I hope you guys find this information helpful! smile

I'm really glad I could help MMG smile and VVF, I had to grab a big lunch after putting together all of my notes in this topic! Lol

I always have used organics on my peeps hoping there was some sort of benefit, and I think it's worth it after doing this.

I usually buy the organic grains for my peeps, I have all the upgrades so why not? Plus you get more units of food per bag of food. (250 vs 150 with the standard food)

Yeah, you do get more units but the price is more than double (double for the grains), so it isn't too good for that unless you catch it on sale. smile

True, but I usually buy the grains, cause they're the cheapest. Plus, what else to spend money on?

Yeah, there really isn't much else to spend the money on once you advance in the game grin

In the beginning, it's best to stick to the necessities so organics aren't the best of choice since it'll take forever to get that money to increase >_<

I was thinking about this topic and I wondered: Lyssaria, did you buy all the categories of food in the regular and organics, or did you just use one type?

My peeps have over 20,000 in food and they STILL ask for different kinds of groceries. I buy equal amounts of each category (grains, meat, dairy and veggies...organics). I wonder if I stick with all veggies or all dairy if this will stop their complaining! lol

PS: I clean out the fridge every time the $5 career helper or the power outage comes along, but it hasn't seemed to help get rid of the request for different kinds of food.

I believe the "different kind" of food they are asking for are fruit and candy. A gentle reminder from them to you for your praise.

I personally believe (based on watching my own game) is that they ask for new groceries when you have more than roughly 1000 units available. If you stockpile, even the most delicious things get boring after a while wink

I always buy them different types of organics, but they do get bored of organics overall and start craving the regular groceries.

I can definitely sympathize with them, I get tired of certain groceries all the time grin

I am VERY impressed with your experiment. I am a newbie (Second Generation) and have just started to be able to afford organics most of the time. Now I will know to continue buying them! Thanks!

When I see them heading for the computer to send me an email, I pick them up and move them!! I KNOW you want different kinds of groceries!!

In one of my families, I'm going to try buying one of each, orgaic and regular, to see if the complaints slow down or stop.

And maybe I'll let them use up what they have and not stockpile so much....but with over 10,000,000...what else can I do with my money! lol

I wish the peeps would recognize BB's meals...they ARE getting different food every day!! lol

It would be nice if our families had a phone so they could order pizza, etc, once in awhile.

That would be great!

Or even if they could go out shopping, like to a real store and grab things.

Yeah! That could be a chore for the kids...going to the corner store to buy snacks! Or older peeps could "go to the supermarket".
