Thanks for your help Lyssaria and Lewanda. Most appreciated. I have been looking at the mods forum and am amazed by the talent of the people who have made such beautiful house decorations. I'm going to try some of the mod upgrades and see what happens.

I do have a question though, who is best to inherit the house on the next generation? The first born, the last born, or does it matter and can go to a favorite child?

Thanks again for all your help.

Inheritance is totally at your discretion smile Several people only chose first born, others only choose the baby of the family. I, personally, tend to choose the child that made me laugh the most during childhood smile It's all up to you, and only you can decide which one you prefer smile

That being said, you don't *have* to follow the same "rules" (if you make rules for choosing a child) each time smile

Cheron, when the family is new I choose the child that will make the most money. That's usually the one's making the lowest beginning salaries. After they've gotten establised with their income I simply choose my favorite. smile

Lewanda - Yes the most money is a good idea. Not only talented (I saw your mods), but practical too!

I am dreading the first passing I will go through. Funny how you can get so protective and attached to these little people.

My approach was more personal at first, I would choose the child that emailed home the most from college as if they had the most interest in keeping in touch with their family grin

After a few times of having no kids email home, I let my boyfriend choose who gets to take over the house or I do look for whether they want to have children or not as well as their jobs.

In one family however, I always name one little girl after her mother if she looks exactly like her and she takes over the home. smile

In response to the original question, they age too early and they die way too soon. I'm 58 in real life, and I'm thinking I better start planning my funeral !! It's too bad there isn't a small house on the property where the grandparents could live, instead of killing them off so early in life.
