I turned on my game and I had 1 child and now it is gone. It still shows it in the detail screen and in the generation screen where you see all your people, but he is no where to be found in my game. Has anyone else had this happen and can it be fixed?

Are you keeping the game paused while looking for the child? It's best to keep it unpaused because sometimes kids can hide in the laundry room closet, they also disappear when they're behind the closed door in the toilet room as well as in the shower in the bathroom.

Also, if you unpause the game and then click on the detail screen and put it on the child's details, you can exit the detail screen and it'll move to the child.

If they are still in the detail screen, they aren't at college. I second what Lys said. They are likely hiding somewhere. If you select them in the detail screen, then unpause the game (if paused), it will zero in on them. It will also tell you what they are doing.

Thanks for the input. The problem is my the kid was 4 yrs old when I checked. I went back on 3 hrs later and he was gone. HE was not on detail screen and it said he is in the generation screen.He is not dead as far as I know.

Did you have event one that that takes kid out of the house? It the one that says Talent scote or something takes the child to stardom. I had that event and the kid went out of the house.

TTL35, others have had a kid disappear in this game. It's a glitch in the game that needs to be fixed! If he/she is still in the generation screen you will be able to adopt him/her to begin the next generation. I'm really sorry to tell you that if he's been gone this long he'll not show up again until time to begin the next gen. Wishing you luck!

Oh okay, I thought you said that he was still in the detail screen.. he clearly did not leave for college because of his age and you'd get a notification, same thing if he passed away.

It could've been the talent scout event and some sort of bug related to it as well as all of the other events that would remove a child from his/her home.. just trying to think of reasons a child would disappear randomly and without notification.

Sometimes new children or husbands/wives will also disappear if your game experiences a crash or something happens to the save files which is why a lot of people save backups in other locations of their computers.

Sorry you lost him, but as long as his picture isn't dimmer than the other kids or adults on the family tree, that means he is still alive and you can choose him to inherit the house if you wish as Lewanda has mentioned.

It would also help to mention what version of the game you have as well as where you bought it from so we can keep a look out for this bug. If you're not sure, you can go to the main menu on the bottom-left corner and it'll have the version there along with letters representing where you bought it from.

Did you scold him a lot? Maybe he just up and run away and doesn't want you to know where he is.

I downloaded from lvw last day of work and have version 5. Thanks alot for all your help and in put at least I am not crazy and know it can be a glitch in the game.

Well you do have the latest version and from LDW so it's probably just an inconvenient glitch that got missed.

Wow.. that's really weird! The fact that you couldn't see him in the detail screen is what makes it so weird.. did you play around with the save files in any way?

I guess it might just be one of the many mysteries that is VF! Grats on getting him back though!
