I've been watching, and I've noticed that the two people who sit in the seats closest to the livingroom/sink take more than twice as long to eat as the rest of the family regardless of who I put at the table first.

I timed it this morning. I started the clock when all 4 peeps were at the table. It took 2 of them 40 seconds to finish eating. They were the 2nd and 4th to sit down. The last 2 took 50 additional seconds before they got up from the table. That's really a long time! No wonder we have to spend so much time feeding our peeps!

Anyone else having this problem?

Yes, as you've noticed, the two peeps who sit at the short end of the table always take much longer than the others. Perhaps they chew their food more times. wink

Yeah, those two peeps like to sit and enjoy their food maybe because it's tastier or something? grin Or, they can't really see the TV from where they are sitting so they don't know what they're missing out on! Aha!

There was a topic about them choosing which plates to sit at which also brought in the discussion about the slow eaters at the short end of the table here. smile

I noticed that too. I thought some of them were just slower eaters, but now that you mention it they were the ones that sat on the side with their backs away from the tv set.

I have come to like the slow eaters in a house full of kids. The first five sit and eat, three get up and three more can be seated and the bar is still full. The only time I really got bugged was when Mom got promoted just before the last slow eater would have gotten up from the table. I put the little girl back, and sure enough, she sat at the end of the table crazy

LOL! Maybe the ones on the end are just hungrier, and they sit there so they can be closer to the fridge or stove. wink

I don't want to cross-post what I've said on another thread already, so I'm just gonna post the link to the other thread discussing this. lol It's here. It started as a discussion about seating and compatibility and ended up a discussion about that end of the table and slowness. :P
