First, not important, just wondering. Do the pets ever die? I really hope not!
Second, there is a hole in my yard. Can I make someone fill it in, or will they do it on their own?

No, they do not die... the pets live pretty much forever. I think the hole will disappear on its own, because holes in my yard always disappear.

The hole in my yard is usually filled up by an adult or a child aged 14 and over. You'll eventually see one of them walk over and fill it in! The gopher holes usually disappear by themselves but I have yet to see a hole from a child disappear by itself.

No problem! Sometimes I open my game just to see that ugly hole >_< since the game will still run even when you close it, they could've done that while it was closed.
