There is nothing that you can do to start a fire in the game. It's all random.
Wow, if all these events are random I've got the most unlucky family! In the last 2 1/2 days I've had at least 6 oven fires, easily 8 sink leaks, and several of each shower and toilet clogs! And then there's the terrible emails that have taken huge progress and money. My poor family!
My poor nerves! LOL
Maybe I should buy that toolbox sooner than later.
