It seems to me that your main problem will most likely be feeding them, since they are not old enough to prepare a meal for themselves yet. I suppose you could use fruits from the store for as long as possible (when they are available.) I know Arthur has posted that in version .05 they will not starve as long as there is food in the house. Don't worry about putting away the groceries - they are automatically credited when you place them on the kitchen table. You can just open another family or close the game and they will be "magically" put away. I believe for household events (like fires) you can close the game or open another family and those will disappear also (haven't tested that though.) It will be interesting to see how it goes.
