I started to play V.F. this morning, so I was checking on my 2nd to newest family, when I realized the parents had died, and they had left a four-year-old girl in the house. Pausing, I checked on another family, and realized I had another orphan: a two-year-old blue haired girl.
I don't want to start the next gen. for either family; I want to see them grow up, especially miss blue. Any advice/tips/strategy?
~Elisa
P.S.,
I need names, too.

So sorry about your parental losses. Too bad the two girls can't move in together. At least they could be playmates then so they wouldn't be so lonely.

Once the parents pass away I don't think there's anything you can do but start the new generation and forcing the little ones to grow up frown If you kept a backup and have a copy of when the parents were alive, you could try to keep them healthy with hand gels, vitamins, fruit, enough food overnight and of course medications when necessary.

As for names, I like to switch their given name with a different one starting with the same first letter. Like if there was a little girl named Happi, I'd name her Heather or Hilary or something grin Good luck!

I always keep the little ones in the house after the parents die until the kiddos leave. It's fun to be able to just watch them run around the house... thankfully they don't seem to get up to more mischief by themselves. laugh

I waited a whole day for the mariage proposal, and three more because of baby boost, and hoped and crossed my fingers for a blue haired girl, and I don't think I'll start the new generation just yet...
And, Lyssaria, I can't remember her original name, much less the first letter.

It seems to me that your main problem will most likely be feeding them, since they are not old enough to prepare a meal for themselves yet. I suppose you could use fruits from the store for as long as possible (when they are available.) I know Arthur has posted that in version .05 they will not starve as long as there is food in the house. Don't worry about putting away the groceries - they are automatically credited when you place them on the kitchen table. You can just open another family or close the game and they will be "magically" put away. I believe for household events (like fires) you can close the game or open another family and those will disappear also (haven't tested that though.) It will be interesting to see how it goes. (Something about it reminds me of the "hard tribe" hehe) Good luck to you!

Sounds like your little girls will be going through a Home Alone experience grin Thanks for those tips BB! I wouldn't want to miss out on seeing them grow up. smile

Elisa, instead of trying to remember the original name, you can do what I do with the name you gave her, like if her name is Blue I'd change it to Blueberry, Becky, Bella, Blair or Blossom.. some people like to use a foreign language like changing the color Blue to Bleu (French) or Azul (Spanish).

I like Sapphire for a blue-haired female. I have no ideas for the other. I was thinking you could name them after some of the early "Hard Tribe" members, but they were both males. smirk

Sapphire is a wonderful name! May I use it? smile

My blue-haired girl was called Bluey. I was not on my creative mood at the time. wink

Sapphire is my birth stone grin I've always had an obsession with naming pets or children after birth stones such as the name I want if I have a little girl someday.. Kailey Jade! and then there's my bunny Onyx.

Using themed names goes well if you want to give those out to the siblings of a family! Such as those gems and fruits ^^
