Well I knew it was going to happen my first generation father passed away I logged into the game last night and there he was laying on the bed

He was three years older then the mother so..... she was 59 last night so I assume he made it to 62....

But I might have the upper hand here and bring him back to life... I backed up the game the day before...

My question is what generates the out come / life Span of our peeps. I wonder if I restore a backup copy of the game if he might live longer or what not.. any thoughts?

I've never tried starting the same game again to see if they are going to live longer - but I do know from experience that if you start a game again different events happen.

My peeps lifespan increased after I started giving them only organic food. Maybe it happens because they got healthier with that. Oh, and when their health meter goes down I give them vitamins or that gel.

Yep been doing both as well when I logged off the night before he died I checked his health meter and it was almost 100% but maybe he got sick over night I have no idea

oh well I may or may not restart it ... I might keep moving forward with it and hmm wonder if I can restart it in a second slot ?

About the health meter being up when they die, it happened to me as well. I think that when time comes they just go.

Sorry about your loss DrDan... Two of my family's parents died just yesterday too... It was sad, but I love starting new generations. It feels like I'm starting fresh

I think the age that they die is a random generated thing Dr Dan. Yes, I have revived my peeps from saved files before and have them live longer lives. It's best to just get used to it though, because our little peeps tend to naturally die between 60 and 65. If you're real lucky you can get one to 70 and over. I've only had a couple that made it to that age. Good luck!

I did have one guy live up to 68, but like Lewanda mentioned I too think that it is a random-generated thing. It's hard to accept that they had to go, but it also means it's time for life to move on in your little game.

Aaawww. The first one really is the most saddening. You can start the game with a back-up in another save slot by simply changing the number on the file name. But, I think (like the others have posted) that it is probably best to learn to accept it and move on. Starting the new generation is fun and really helps to ease the sadness. Best of luck to you!
