Every now & then, I will have one of my people just walk off in the middle of a task. This seems to happen, most often, when they are half-way through preparing a meal, which is kind of irksome if the family are hungry! I know that if there is something to celebrate (e.g. a job promotion) family members will drop everything & dance, but this wandering off just happens randomly. Anybody else experienced this? Any way to stop it?

Yes, it just happens randomly and you can't really stop it but you can decrease how often it happens by praising them every time you have them perform the task. However, when they become "elderly" some lil peeps get a bit senile and will wander off more often, as if they have simply forgotten what they were doing.

Yes, it's happened to me at least more than twice... I think what might help is if you praise them for cooking, then maybe they won't wonder off... Hope this helps!

Usually every single time I do not sit down and watch my peeps prepare a meal, they'll run off and do something else. It's very frustrating! Sometimes I just can't help but feel like they're doing it on purpose wink

Most of the time I'm feeding them, I myself am hungry and waiting for them to eat first before I treat myself.

Yes as said earlier praising them is the only way to decrease the chances of them walking away. Just make sure not to praise them for doing the same task more than twice every hour. Otherwise they will say you are nagging them. smile

You can praise more than twice in an hour, just not three times consecutively. It's only the third consecutive time that gets called nagging (and it doesn't matter if it's been over an hour either.) After two, just praise them for something else. Then they can return to the task and be praised again and they won't call it nagging. wink

If you use candy to praise, it is never called nagging, so I use that if it is available.

Oh really. I didn't know that. I knew the candy wouldn't make them say "Stop Nagging" Thanks for the info. laugh

Also, if you do "nag" them and they run away, put them right back at the same task, immediately praise them again (1 or 2 clicks on glove--not 3), and it will be accepted as praise and they may or may not continue at that task for awhile.

No problem, Hav.
I've been called a "slave driver" for the way I train my poor lil peeps when they're new. lol My mom is new to the game and I mentioned something about having one that hadn't mastered yet and was already 35, and I was a bit annoyed with her (the lil peep.) Mom looked at me in total shock. I explained that I have all the upgrades and most of my peeps master around 30. She asked how I made them master so quickly. Besides the room upgrades, I decided it must be the method I use for training. Trying to explain it to her kinda made me realize I am a bit rough on them at first. heh Habits I started when we were collecting salary info for the guide have just stuck with me, I suppose. I'm going to start trying to let up a little since it really doesn't matter any more if they master or not.
