In one of my families the baby just turned 2. The oldest son, who is 12, has suddenly started jumping on the bed and banging dishes. He never did this before. He suddenly went into brat mode. Has anyone else experienced this?

I have had a couple of kids who were "jealous of new baby" and would so things like that. I would try to get them to get tickled by their parents or play with their toys. Eventually they would be elated again and continue on with their normal things.

His mood is happy. He's just acting like a 3 year old.

Puberty does make kids act oddly. I think it's the hormones.

He is also playing in the sandbox now. He never did that before.
There are two other children older than the baby. He never acted like that when they were born.

It's cause he's a boy. See this is what happens when his parent doesn't PUT HIM IN THE POOL. LOL

I was wondering what was going on with my older children (both girls). They were relative angels until there was a new child and they got to 11 and 13. Now they are total brats! There's been nothing mentioned about jealousy so I just figured it was their last hurrah so to speak.

I haven't paid attention to that, but I do notice the kids acting up really terribly >_< That's pretty neat if they were programmed to act up after a baby is born!
