no matter what i try..to get a peep to 70....i cant seem to crack it....its always age 69 ... some of the methods ive tried r as follows

1)have 15000 in food...perfect health at 60 and a minor( child) in the house
2)all upgrades...total praise on exercise and the tread mill massive food..no children
3) 10000 + food checking every 3 hours and giving all vitamins i can buy
4)15000 food...children and no children....let the game run for 4 days the equivalent of about 30 years without checking....

there were other combos i tried..but its just to much to type out...

im running on the 100.01 version...from Yahoo

help SPOILERS...lol

The updated version .05 has changed the age to 65. So just download the update and you won't go crazy!

Most all of my people live to the age of 65+ years, with the average being 67. (I've digressed lately since I added a few more families.)

I don't think it's so much the amount of food as it is the type of food when you are trying for age, as long as they have enough to last the length of time you have the game closed. They need organics in order to get those last couple of years in. We've had a recent discussion about groceries in this thread that may be helpful in that area, but basically just try to clean out your fridge out using one of the events and start them over with only organics.

Don't leave them alone for long periods or an illness might creep in and take away that hard earned health. Once they are into their sixties, I check on mine more often to make sure I catch any illness early so their health doesn't suffer. Basically, only leave them alone overnight to make sure they get enough sleep. With your version, you also need to make sure they learn to nap so that energy isn't a problem.

(Assuming you have the bathroom, and air purifier upgrades) training them to exercise is great and is exactly what you want to do. Number of kids has no bearing and kids in the house also doesn't matter, other than having someone around to help out on chores, cooking, etc. It won't have any relation to how long they live though.

Keep some fruit, antibacterial hand gel, vitamins and maybe an energy drink on hand in case they get sick (the energy drink is in case you need to use antibiotics during the day.) When duplicates are available in the store, use the ones you have on hand to boost health and praise exercise, then replace your stock.

If you can check on them often enough to provide three meals a day, do so. If it's only twice, then that's ok, especially with the version of the game you have, because (if I remember correctly, their fed bar doesn't drop very quickly anyway, but groceries sure do.)

You CAN get the 70+ with the version you have. I had a few before I upgraded, but I have to tell you, it's much, much easier with the updated version of the game. The treadmill will help you a ton. It seems to slow the rate at which their energy and fed bar decreases, which is great since you don't have the fixes for energy consumption or the changes to food consumption yet.

I've never seen my peeps turn 70 too.

Once I left the game with one of them at 68, but when I came back both had died - and then they just wave goodbye and you can't see how old they were when they passed.

Oldest I think was 68. I wish there was a way to know exactly how old they were when they died. Like when you leave them overnight or something.

I initially had version .01 and when I clicked on my peep's on their deathbed, I was able to see their ages. Now that I have updated to .05, that doesn't happen. I miss that.

mine started to live past 70 in about the 3rd generation. every time there are vitamins, i buy em, same with fruit. always praise for exercise. however, there are sometimes ones who just die earlier. i had one 5th or 6th generation mom who slowed down CONSIDERABLY at 40, and died late 50's, even though i was doing nothing different.

I managed to get 2 families to the age of 75.
Here's how I did it:
Click to reveal..

1. Stock Energy Drink, Multivitamins, Antibacterial hand gel, all fruits (blood orange, sweet mango, perfect bananas).
2. Upon entering the game and find that your people is Lying in Repose, hit the space button immediately to pause the game.
Note that this will only work if the spirit has not left the body and wave at you.
3. Feed the dying person the energy drink first, then all of them items above next. You will be able to move the person around and play him/her again although the rest of the household is still mourning. You will notice that the state of the person will gradually change from Extremely Weak - Weak - A little Weak - Normal [this is when the status stop showing Health and start showing other states (Hyper, Elated, etc)]
4. If the health isn't normal yet, keep the game on pause and recheck back on the stores twice a day (morning and afternoon, usually) to buy the items mentioned above and keep feeding the person those items.
5. After health reaches normal, un-pause the game and play normally.
6. If the person is dying again, repeat everything from step 1.
7. Be patient. I had to resurrect my people 2 times before I got the achievement.

Good luck! laugh

That method will only work with the very early versions of the game (1.00.00 and 1.00.01). There have been many bug fixes and improvements to the game in the later versions, including improvements to energy levels, food consumption, and more frequent store restocking. You can find out more about the latest version in this post.
