DrDan, I'm with you there. I just take them. lol In later gens you will have a lot of money and when the upgrades are done, losing career progress isn't a big deal as they usually max out at such an early age.
Someone (I think it was Arnie) posted in the careers and salaries thread that you can also use
Alt + F4 when in full screen to close the game.
