shhh! .. I am thinking of playing VF at work so.... But what I want to do is be able to start the family at work and continue at home with same family.. at home can I email the back up files to myself at home so I can restore them will that work ??

As long as you have those backup files and you put them in the correct spot on your computer, you should be good to go!
