Hi!! Im a long time reader of the forums and have been playing VF since it was released! I have 5 families on the go who are all between 10th and 13th generation.... and in all my families I have never found a rare blue butterfly!!! I have even found the dragonfly in 3 of the families. It doesnt even look like it would be that hard to see... is anyone else having problems with finding this one?

I buy every tropical rain going, sit for ages waiting for it to rain naturally, and feel like buying my neighbour a present when he builds his weather machine!!! But still no luck with the rare butterfly!!!

My second family has every bug except this one, and every trophy except the bug one and the every collectible one etc. So im desperate for it to appear so i can get the 100 trophies for this family!!
Arggghhh its driving me mental!!

I have it already. Withing 10 minutes of starting my third family ( don't have it yet in my other two. ) it appeared in the first rain fall after beginning the game. However, this is my fifth family in total over time and the first time I've picked it up this early in the game. I guess it really is just random and down to luck.

I'm in a similar position. I have it in one of my families but haven't got it in the other three yet. It's purely a matter of chance I'm afraid.

I do have the blue butterfly, but no dragonfly! These rare bugs can truly be pesky >_<

Come to my house. I have all the common, uncommon and rare bugs you may want around here. A few snakes too if you are interested in collecting them.

Lyssaria, look carefully around the pavements when it's raining. Mine appeared ( in a previous game ) on the pavement and since it's almost transparent I was so lucky to catch it. I haven't managed to find it yet though in any of my current games. I shall keep looking though. I have just got the purple bug though today!

So did I! In that game I had only one rare bug already and guess which one it was? Grr...

I am on my 11th generation and I still have a little under half of the bugs to find, 2 parts of the picture, and the maple leaf. It's driving me crazy!! lol!

It may just be me here, but I've noticed that if I pick up a peep and walk them v e r y slowly around the areas where bugs, coins etc., generally show up I seem to get many more than I would normally find if I just left it for chance to pop them up. When it rains, I pick up one of my younger peeps and take them on a slow trip around and around their homestead just for a couple of minutes and count how many collectibles I get in that time. I've managed 15 at one point but generally it's around 7 - 10.

Now, I'm pretty sure I'm not crazy and it's not just in my imagination as hubby did that himself too and foudn the same thing! Bless him he though it was his imagination and I thought it was mine til I mentioned it first.

During the very s l o w walk through this is when I've picked up the rarest of bugs and the most difficult to find ones sucgh as the purple bug and blue butterfly.

I'm not saying this is spoiler or a glitch or anything and who knows, it may just be my imagination after all but try it!! see what happens for you!

That's so frustrating - it happens to me so often too. lol

I can't complain about not getting many bugs, I find lots of them. I just get the same ones over and over. I have 3 families going and all need 2 or 3 more bugs, but not the same ones... If I could just figure out how to have them make trades with each other I'd be all set.

I have a family I just started a few days ago and the only bug they seem to find is the red moth. They have sold its duplicate on the internet many times over. Now if they could just find some of the other insects...

That's the most common 'common' bug for me, too. That and the ladybird (ladybug in the USA I think).

same, i got one common and a uncommon, i dont remember what they look like

since posting this message 3 of my 5 families have found the blue butterfly!! cant believe it!! so happy!! unfortunately the family who only needs that one hasnt found it yet but hopefully soon!! i now have one family who only needs the dragonfly, one only needs the purple bug, and one who only needs the blue butterfly! getting there eventually!!

I'm just waiting for the dragonfly to finish my collection. Maybe it got extinct.
