Have you tried dragging him directly onto the computer or blinking e-mail notification above the computer? (Not the one in the top corner)

They should be able to check it like that..similar to preparing a meal by dragging them onto the kitchen table if they have a career in the kitchen.

Did you do it like this? so the circle is around the keyboard and it says "He sees the computer."?

I always use the computer on the left (the one Lyssaria shows) for emails as it seems to trigger career less often if an email is present. I've seen or read somewhere that dropping them on the router works as well.

Princess, what version are you using? (to check, open the game, go to the main menu, and look in the bottom left corner - example: 1.00.05, LDW)

Also, it would help to know where you purchased the game. If you do not have 1.00.05, you should upgrade your game, as that issue was fixed in the .04 version. If you purchased the game here, then please see this post to upgrade. If you purchased the game somewhere else, then you will need to contact that site in order to upgrade.

we have 1.00.01 and got it from shockwave that we pay monthly for how can we up grade itr then

You should contact Shockwave support to get their upgraded version. Note: Do not download our version, or it will reset yours to the trial version.

Shockwave has the newest version up now (and have had for quite some time.) Go to shockwave and download the game again. While that is going, backup your saved game files. See this post for instructions on how to do that.

Then, just install the game from Shockwave and it should be upgraded. When you launch the game, if you don't see your player names (and families) just close the game and use your backup copy of your save game files to restore them. (Reverse the process in that link above.) Launch the game again and you should be good to go.

Eeep! Did you backup your game files? If so, all you need to do is copy and paste them back into the Virtual Families folder in My Documents/LDW. Sometimes the folder isn't created until you have run the game the first time (although I would think the folder would still be there from the previous version.) Shockwave updates DO erase the game files, so you will definitely need to use your backup copies.
