No new collectibles in 4 generations?

Has anyone gotten all the collectibles? I am missing 3 bugs, two picture pieces and a clover. I haven't received a new collectible in over 4 generations of playing every day. I've got coins coming out my ears to sell, but nothing to keep. I've tried making it rain, and making the sun shine to no avail.

It's not unlikely that you might have to wait for some long time between finding new collectibles, particularly if you've already found the common ones. Remember that the game is meant to be played over several generations, not just one or two.

I am on the 9th generation with one family, 8th with the others and have the same thing happening. Just the same coins to sell online. I haven't found a new puzzle piece for any family since the 3rd generation.

It depends on how much time you spend watching for collectibles! I don't spend as much time looking for them now as I did on my first generation, but they do eventually show up.
Sometimes I'd wait an hour or two before even a common coin would pop up, other times I'd luck out and find many within 10 minutes. If you do have the time to spare, it's something to do!

Kinda frustrated with the same collections popping up in the yard. I have 9/12 in the pics, nuts and coins and only 1 or 2 bugs. Whats up with that? Why are the same ones always coming up?

The collectibles that show up are random, there are only two things that influence when collectibles will show up. When you fix the shed to start finding picture pieces, and the bugs appearing only when it rains.

I need one picture piece in one family and the blue butterfly in the other family. I have been waiting several generations in both families for them to pop up. I used to put in alot of time watching for the collectibles but now not so much. I guess they'll pop up sooner or later - I just hope I'm there when they do.

I am getting really bored waiting for my last two collectibles and for new suitors to show up. I only need 10 more trophies to have all 100. The beginning of the game seemed more fun as I felt I was really progressing. Now it just feels like I am doing maintenance and there really isn't much to do. The money is accumulating but there are no more upgrades to buy. I think the random items should come around more often. It would be nice if after completing the first set of upgrades a new set would come into play. It would make it more challenging.

I have a family on its 7th generation and all they need are 2 more bugs (yellow moth and small brown beetle) to finish ALL their collections. I got the dragonfly yesterday and the blue moth as well as the last picture piece this morning.

I've been waiting on the same last two collectibles for five generations now. Just the same ol' same ol'.

Green, green envy here, Jenny! Of course, it would help it I were to spend a couple of hours with the family, I am sure. Be sure to let us know when you complete all so we can celebrate SOMEONE finishing all the collections.

I have been playing VF since the day it was released and STILL don't have all the collections completed. I still need a couple bugs and one of the rare leaves. I've made it rain dozens of time and nada. I've made the sun shine dozens of times, nada!
I have, at different times, deleted some of the other families just so I have something to do. Get really tired of picking up socks and cooking dinner, lol!
If anyone gets them all let us know!

I have one family that's been there since the day VF was released and I STILL need 3 bugs and a twig! I have done everything: make it rain, make the sun shine, etc. NADA NOTHING ZIP I have grown so bored with this! Nothing left to do in the game but cook, pick up stuff and unsuitable content removed by moderator. What a big let down. They really need to think about adding 'generation based' items/chores/collectibles for the next VF - if indeed they intend to do a VF2!

If anyone gets them all let us know! Hi cindylouwho. Lostie completed all 4 collections in one family yesterday. See here. Some of us make and install mods to keep things interesting while we search for missing collection pieces and try to earn the other trophies. Do you have any interest in those activities? Others do different experiments in their games. Do you have other trophies to earn other than the ones concerning collectibles? Keep the faith, you'll complete your collections.

I'm in the same boat Cindylouwho is in: I have very few trophies left to collect and the game has become very boring. I think it would be more challenging if LDW had added new sets of challenges after the first ones were met: like new upgrades to the house or something that you can buy. My money is just accumulating and there's nothing to spend it on except food and odds & ends.
I have read about the mods, but I am not sure what this is all about. How do you add them?

MoonStar, for mods you can read the following guide on downloading and installing them. Installation Instructions for Graphic ModsThe mods themselves are located here: Virtual Families ModsYou also seem to have some nice suggestions for the game, you should post about that here: Suggestions for Virtual Families________________________ I just added a new bug to my collection in my Rainbow family which is well on its way to generation 6. He has found a gold star (rare) butterfly! Hurray! 62 year old Spike V made that lovely discovery soon after his wife passed away. I try not to think of it as not receiving any new collectibles in a certain amount of generations.. I just see it as "it took me 5 generations to get this collectible." That just shows you what the definition of "rare" or "uncommon" really is.
