It sounds like the game wasn't completely uninstalled before you tried reinstalling it. Deleted the savegame files doesn't uninstall the game. In order to uninstall the game, you need to run the uninstaller (at least with our version).

Since every game site repackages our games to suit their own digital rights management and distribution methods (such as download managers), I really can't advise you properly of the best way to get the Shockwave version of the game running again. At this point, it's probably best to contact support at Shockwave to get advice, since they are in a position to know how they packaged the game and how to properly reinstall it.
