When you cross-pollinate plants, you have to grow the seeds to see the new plants. Pollinating doesn't change a mature plant, it only affects what kind of seeds are produced.

Maybe you can explain why when i cross pollinated a Fourpetal Ananas with a Nox Maple the seed went back to a tier 2 I think. It's brown and shaped like a pea.Why am I going backwards? What is it,that I'm doing wrong?I'm trying to get the four petal maple. And if it has 4petals,why can't I cross pollinate and get a 4petal maple? What am I doing wrong???I'm so frustrated

Cross-pollinating plants often produces a lower tier that that of the parents. That's why you need to keep track of your breeding or carefully follow one of the breeding charts in the guide section. The Ananas and Maple you crossed should have produced a Jalapa Lemonbush. Maybe you didn't select the plants you thought you did. Crossing a Jalapa Maranta and a Citrus Ball Cactus will give you a Four-petal Maple.

Well, see. That's one of my problems.I no longer have a Citrus Ball Cactus.I have up=graded cactuses tho.The barrel and that other one.Why won't they work?I have a jalapa Astera, but not a Jalapa Mantra.and a Blazing Maranta too.Okay,I looked at the breeding chatrs before and even that's confusing to me.Because there are so many different names of all the plants.Hard for me to remember them and know what seed goes to what plant.*Sigh*At this rate I"ll still be playin this game next year...

I'm patiently waiting to hear from you.I downloaded something from a link that you posted. What is a reptan?I've had to have seen and had them as far along as I am.It's something on Microsoft Excel. So,I take a reptan and cross it with a Ball Cactus and then(the seed that i get from that cross) a maranta with an astera? How does this work?Have you got anything a lil bit more simpler to follow and help everyone out?I've seen the one with the x in it,and it looked just as confusing to me as well.or...the seed is a Maranta and I take that sed and cross with an Astera?then that seed I cross with a maple? If thats the case, where do i get the maple from?Am I even making sense at all?confused Please help me....

The key to understanding the breeding is realizing that the flower types and the foliage types are independent. When you select plants for pollination, you have to consider the flowers and foliage separately.

You will get confused if you try to randomly breed and keep every kind of see you make. The seed trays aren't large enough for that.

The only seeds you absolutely need to keep are the common (Tier 1) seeds, which include the Reptans, Astera, Maranta, Maple, and Ball Cactus foliage types and the Spotted, Bluestar, Jalapa, Four-petal, and Ball flower types. All other Tier 1 through Tier 3 seeds (and the Magic Plants) can be created from them with one or two generations of cross-pollination. The Tier 4 plants can come later, when you have enough money for Exotic seeds and Mutation Liquid from the store.

Maybe you will find the breeding advice in this guide easier to follow. smile

Well, good morning.Okay,I understand what you're saying there.I didn't realize this until it was too late and I raised certain seeds never saved certain ones.I got rid of the wrong ones and kept some of the wrong ones.Money's not an issue for me.I've already bought a few, still waiting for the ball cactus to show up.I bought a(I have trouble remembering all the names) I know it's one I was looking for.I downloaded the virtual seed tray, but I don't think I'm going to use it to store my seeds in,so i can run both and look at the chart. From it,I seen I had the grass, but now I no longer do.I need it more for the chart than a place to store my seeds.I think it'd make things easier for me.I'm not sure if i ever had a Spotted. Now when u say blue star.As in flowers?I have a Blue Star Rare Oak.Do I need that seed?Okay, can it be any Maple?Any Four Petal?Did I confuse you?I hope not.I think I confused my self

The ideal situation (for efficiency) is to save a seed for each common flower/foliage combination (Spotted, Bluestar, Jalapa, Four-petal, and Citrus Reptans; Spotted, Bluestar, Jalapa, Four-petal, and Citrus Astera, etc. - 25 seeds in all), although you can make any Tier 1 through Tier 3 species starting with only 4 seeds (Spotted Reptans, Citrus Reptans, Spotted Ball Cactus, and Citrus Ball Cactus) - you'll just have to cross-pollinate more plants to get what you need.

When you're down to only one seed of a specific plant in your "starter set" you'll need to plant it and self-pollinate to make more of those seeds.

Okay.I'm starting to understand.I'm a little greedy tho,so I like to keep a lot of the expensive plants that I've found, just in case I need the money, until I find something else even more expensive.I am going to try something from this chart and see what happens.I think I'm going to make something I haven't had yet. What's so confusing is,that it says to x-pollinate the same seed (mela orchid x mela orchid x 4 petal ananas and i should get a mela astara)I don't see or understand why i need to pollinate the same seed to achieve or to get that plant. It just makes things more confusing is all it does.(I'm still waiting for seeds to show up in the shop)Hoping I see a ball cactus seed in there today.
