Just click on it in your tray and then click on the store screen. It will ask you if you want to return it. If you say yes, it will credit your account for the value of the item. Groceries cannot be returned, but everything else can as far as I know.

Jenny23 is right. Even if the place in the store is full, you can still return an item. Maybe you bought too many candys and you need some room for food. You can just click on the item, drag it to the store and it will ask if you want to return it.

Also, if you buy home-repair products, you can set them down where they are to be used, even if you don't want to use them yet. I've had a bucket of compound sitting on the porch for ages!

I do that too with repair items. But then I forget and buy them again. When I go to put them in the appropriate spot, I find one already there (tape, compound, etc). So then I return the duplicate item to the store for a refund.

There's an event where you get

a free sample of one of the medicines in the store.
I always return it to the store to stop it taking up space in my tool tray. It only takes a moment to buy it again from the store if it turns out to be needed.

Jenny,

It's the "small package" event. That one will always be a medicine. If it's a tiny white package, that's an ant farm that will eat a good bit of your food. Sealed green bags are organic groceries and sealed bags are regular groceris. wink

Thx, BayouBlonde, maybe I have seen it then. Thought it was something else.
