It drives me crazy when I open one of the families and it starts to rain immediately. Plus someone is sick on top of that! Geez. I know I miss the Moth and Dragonfly when that happens. I have found bugs, to the right of the sandbox area, by the right of the back door and and garden hose, to the left of the shed, the area between the birdhouse and back of the workroom, then the side door and south of the workroom. Never anything around the patio and pool. Just wondering if I am missing another spot.

Pause the game as soon as the family loads. wink You can click on each family member to check their status, drop them to get an indication of some illnesses (cough, sneeze, hiccup) and run a quick check of the house and yard. Collectibles will freeze on the screen long enough for you to do that, buy meds for the sick ones and treat them, place well ones on the collectibles, trash, etc. then un-pause.

I've found a couple of bugs just above the patio set.

I found my dragonfly just to the left of the shed. Other bugs seem to like the hoses. Now, if only I could get the dragonfly and the big black one in the game with 2 bugs missing! Sigh...

Ok, I'm new to the game. What do the bugs look like? I can't seem to find any, raining or not!

I mean, what do they look like when on the grass before I put them in my collection? Are they still in color?

When I joined I thought I'd have to be looking for tiny things on leaves, but they're pretty noticeable.

This is the exact size and color of the bugs on the grass, don't look if you don't want to see them all:

Just keep looking out on the grass, sometimes they're tricky and hide on the hoses.

Oh! Thank you everyone! Is it common to not see them when you're on your first generation? I haven't seen ANY!

For some reason on my first gen. I always saw them when I got the e-mail from the neighbor about her weather machine and then it rains, or when I used the bottled rain in the store. When it rained naturally, I'd only get twigs and coins.

It's probably just random either way, so good luck!
