I just can't seem to control myself. I was on my first game and had found 3 magic fish, fully researched everything and was creating all kinds of cool fish. Problem is I couldn't control myself. I kept breeding like crazy and ended up having 3 tanks full! I decided to do a final breeding then sell off all adults except the magic fish I had.

I bought some common eggs as well as some rare eggs. I hatched them and got some cool new fish. Unfortunately I went crazy again and was soon up to 3 full tanks again!!!

So, lesson learned. I backed up the save file and started a new game. This time I'll go nice and slow and take my time. Not sure what my rush was before...

I do blame Arthur and team for causing me to completely lose track of work and sit staring at my PPC while frantically updating my Excel DB with new fish.

Wow, it is nice to know I am not alone! I have found that I routinely sell off all my fish and start again. I have been tempted to even sell off my magic fish, but for now I keep 2 of each. I leave one in tank 1 and the second in, you guessed it, tank 2.

Question: Do magic fish need to be in your tank to reap the benefits or does the fact that you "discovered" them, and they are in your trophy case, give you the special powers each fish has to offer?

Once I have my last magic fish I am just going to keep playing with breeds.

Well, thank you again for letting me know I am not the only fish breeder gone bazerk (FBGB!). Hummm Fib Gib , sounds like a new breed of fish...

~Sigh, I think I need to get a life~

The magic fish have to be in the tank for you to reap the rewards of their magic qualities.

You're not alone. I am in this same boat right now. I just can't decide what I should sell because I only have the first 3 magic fish. What a dilemma. lol

This is what I did to find all the fish species:

1. find a fish (usually a magic fish) that sells well
2. breed it over and over to make lots of money
3. buy all the upgrades, ornaments and magic plants with one exception - do not buy the plant of fertility - this may seem odd as the extra offspring would be useful in the early stages of the game, but take it from me that it becomes a pain in the latter stages as you run out of space in the tanks.
4. I recommend keeping a pair of each of these magic fish: Magic fish of fertility, magic fish of growth, the golden guppy. Price your magic fish at $9999 and you can store them out of the way in your selling tank. They won't sell at that price!
5. Concentrate on finding all the species of a particular breed. e.g. Fruitfish. When you are breeding, don't have the greenfin spotanus (magic fish of fertility) in the tank - you only want to produce one of each species otherwise you'll run out of room.
6. Buy fish eggs, growth hormone and unknown chemical to help you find the missing fish from each species. When all 21 have been found, sell the fish and start again with a new species.

It takes a lot of juggling between the tanks and often you have to overprice certain fish to stop them selling, just so you have room to store them all!

Every once in a while, concentrate on breeding and selling your most expensive fish to raise more capital.
